Defoamer

A defoamer or an anti-foaming agent is a chemical additive that reduces and hinders the formation of foam in industrial process liquids. The terms anti-foam agent and defoamer are often used interchangeably. Basically defoamers eliminate existing foam and anti-foamers prevent the formation of further foam. We are offering two types of Defoamer.

(1) Defoamer Silicon Base:

Physical State The Material shall be a clear homogenous liquid at 24 + 2’C, free from visible impurities. As per requirement
DENSITY 0.89-1.09 1.02
PH > 7 7.7
Performance Test
A) Prepare 7% Bentonite suspension in distilled water (7 g of Bentonite + 97 ml of Distilled water) and age for 72 hours at 90 + 2’C. Stir the suspension in Hamilton Beach Mixer at low speed for 15 minutes and load it to 1.30 specific Gravity with Barites. Passes
B) Treat the loaded Mud with 3% Gypsum (w/v) followed by 3% (w/v) Chrome Lignosulphonate (CLS). Adjust the pH between 9.0 – 9.5 by adding appropriate aliquots of 5/V caustic soda solution. Stir for 30 minutes with a Hemilton Beach Mixer at high speed. The brand of CLS added should be so selected specific gravity of stirred Mud fails below 1.0 Passes
C) Treat this Mud with 500 ppm of silicon defoamer sample. Stir for 30 seconds and determine the specific Gravity of the Mud Specific Gravity of the mud treated with defoamer should not be less than 1.28 1.28

(2) Defoamer Alcohol Base :

Sr No. Characteristics Results
1 Appearance Liquid
2 Specific Gravity. 0.95
3 PH (1% Solution) 5-9
4 Application Alcohol based Defoamer is used in many industries and has been used widely in drilling completion and work over fluids. It is in liquid form and easy to mix and works quickly and effectively reduces the forms in aqueous fluid systems.
